I have a client in Connecticut who owns a rental property. His tenant had a Federal Tax Lien filed aginst him for 2015, 2016 and 2017.
My client is concerned about the lien showing up on his property record since he is considering selling the property. Would the lien show up his property record or is it just filed in the town clerk’s office against the tenant?
Ray the tenant never owned the property so it means nothing. I would tell the client that when they sell the title search will show the tenant never owned it and it will be ignored.
