I have been working with a Revenue Officer on an outstanding payroll liability issue. The RO is very difficult to get in touch with. She has not responded to the last 6 or so phone calls. What is the best next step? I would like to move this case along.
That’s not a good sign. Might be an indicator that the case could be referred for criminal investigation. Can you find out who the RO’s manager is and try to reach out to him/her to see what the delay is? It could be innocent too. Maybe the RO got transferred to another job or location.
Mary Jo, fax her and state you have been trying to get in contact with her and would like her to get back to you when she is able. Always fax because you have a paper trail. We have a number of ROs here in Connecticut that are experts at ignoring us until they need something.
