I am sure you would have to be living under a rock to miss the Avenatti indictment. I read the 197 page complaint and attached affidavits. A big part of his problems result from payroll tax problems in two of his businesses. One thing I noted was that many of Global Baristas (the coffee company he bought out of bankruptcy) employees were interviewed by the IRS, many of whom knew of the company’s payroll tax issues. While Avenatti exercised a great deal of control over what was spent and how, it is certainly a good lead in to a quick blog post on responsible persons.
I am swamped this week but definitely going to do something next week. Thought I would share as someone else in this group may find other lessons in the complaint that could be instructive to others.
